Being a Computer Technician, you are always called by people to help out with various computer problems. Last time I had to help someone whose screen had turned upside down. Try to think how the person was worried not knowing what had really happened. I am always tempted to tell them to flip their monitors upside down too. A flipped screen can be caused by you pressing the wrong key combinations on your keyboard. A friend of yours can also pull this trick on you. Even a pet like a cat can end up doing it by stepping on a set of combination keys on your keyboard.
How to flip your screen back to normal
- Hold down the control (Ctrl) key on your keyboard
- Press and hold down the Alt key
- Depending on how your screen is oriented, you will have to work with the Arrow Keys. Let us say your screen is upside down, hold Ctrl, Alt, and Up Arrow Key. Your screen will go back to normal.
- You can also do this by use of software, just right click on your desktop and look for graphic options and then select graphic properties. This might be a bit different depending on the drivers installed in your system. If you get to this point, a graphics controller dialog appears. Just look for the rotation option and set the screen back to normal. If you want to flip it, just select any of the provided degrees.
Using the graphics controller properties dialog, you can also lock your computer so that you disable the option of rotation. You will see a check box with the words enable rotation. Just deselect the tick and you will be safe from accidentally flipped screen.
So the best thing for you is to practice on flipping your screen. It will make you remember how to fix an upside down screen easily.
